Racing Career Highlights
TC Motorsports Team Principle Taryn Sparacio won both the ICSCC Spec Miata and ITA championships in 2005. She is the first woman in the world to ever win a Spec Miata championship. In pursuit of this championship she won four races, earned five pole positions, and set one track qualifying record. As part of her ITA championship, she won one race, earned two pole positions, and six podium finishes. She was named International Race Driver Club’s Driver of the Year and nominated as ICSCC Driver of the Year.
In addition to sprint racing, Taryn has helped to lead TC Motorsports' successful endurance racing program. Taryn was a team driver of the 1st place TC Motorsports Spec Miata at both the 2004 and 2005 CSCC 8-Hours of the Cascades. Taryn was also a team driver of the TC Motorsports Spec Miata at the 2004 and 2005 NASA Pro Racing 25-Hours of Thunderhill endurance races where the team finished and 3rd of 23 in class (11th of 59 overall) 2nd of 20 in class (7th of 58 overall), respectively.
In 2004, Taryn drove a TC Motorsports Mazda Miata to 3rd place in the ICSCC Radial Sedan championship series where she recorded one top three finish and seven top five finishes. During 2000 to 2003, Taryn raced a PRO7 Mazda RX-7 with TC Motorsports in ICSCC sprint races and endurance races. Her most successful finish was in the 2003 CSCC 8-Hours of the Cascades where the team finished 5th in class and 7th of 21 overall. Taryn also competed in the 1999 Nevada Open Road Race where she finished 4th of 21 competitors driving an SVT Mustang Cobra in the 110 mph class.
Personal
Born in Republic, WA, Taryn works as a senior scientist at a leading engineering and scientific consulting firm. She has been a racing and driving instructor since 2000 with racing schools and car clubs including ProFormance Race School, Northwest Alfa Romeo Club, International Race Drivers Club (IRDC), Cascade Sports Car Club (CSCC), Mustangs Northwest, and Washington Shelby American Automobile Club (WASAAC).
