Racing Career Highlights
Jon competed in his first year of road racing in 2004. During that year, he completed the Conference Novice Program driving his TC Motorsports Spec Miata, and then jumped into the Conference Spec Miata championship series and finished 4th. Jon’s career also includes a 2nd place finish in the 2005 Conference Spec Miata championship and his first race win in 2006. Jon, along with the help of TC Motorsports and his driving partner, Ralph Paul, won the inaugural 4-Hours of the Cascades, not only beating all of the Miatas, but all of the Mazdas entered in the race.
Jon also served as crew chief of the TC Motorsports Spec Miata at the 2004 and 2005 NASA Pro Racing 25-Hours of Thunderhill endurance race where the team finished 3rd and 2nd in class, respectively. Jon has also helped the team to numerous class wins at the 8-Hours of the Cascades. Jon would also like to thank the other people who are part of the crew that help make endurance racing so much fun, especially his wife. Without her warm food in the middle of the night at the 25-Hours of Thunderhill, we would not survive. Her support allows Jon to race and pursue this dream of racing.
Personal:
Born in Detroit Lakes, MN, recently Jon left his career in biotech to pursue a life long desire to be a part of a winning race team. Jon now works for TC Motorsports in the racing preparation shop in Auburn and at the track in support roles. In his spare time, Jon enjoys woodworking, hiking, camping, and model railroading. Most of all, Jon enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Bessie. Jon is really looking forward to watching the future of TC Motorsports unfold; including all of the challenges and successes that are part of road racing.
