The new Ford Racing Mustang Challenge series will visit some of the most beautiful and historic road courses across North America, with Road Atlanta, Barber Motorsports Park, Mosport, Cleveland Airport Circuit, Lime Rock and Miller Motorsports Park filling the schedule.
The Ford Mustang FR500S racecar is the first ever production line Ford racecar and will provide drivers with an affordable means to participate in a professional racing series with a V8 powered rear wheel drive racecar. All cars are built on a production line and every component of the car is spec for the series. Development costs are contained with a dyno tested and sealed factory engine package, spec BFGoodridge R1 tires, and AIM data acquisition required on all cars to monitor car performance. The spec nature of the series will breed close and exciting racing and a sophisticated double adjustable SACHS suspension will provide true, modern racecar handling.
The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires will be an eight-round series utilizing the new Ford Mustang FR500S fitted with BFGoodrich g-Force R1 tires. The series, which will be sanctioned by the Grand American Road Racing Association, will consist of eight races during the 2008 season.

MX-5 Cup
Drivers looking to move up to a professional racing series now have an affordable outlet available to them. The SCCA Pro Racing Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Playboy is the upper echelon and professional version of the Spec Miata class. The races are held at top-level motorsports facilities across North America and televised on SPEED Channel. Drivers, teams, and sponsors will have an opportunity for exposure at world-renowned racing circuits and street circuits in conjunction with high profile mainstream professional auto racing events. Events have been held with Indy Racing League (IRL), Champ Car (CART), American Le Mans Series (ALMS), and SPEED World Challenge, among others.
The series uses the all new third-generation 2006 Mazda MX-5 Miata equipped with the new 2.0 liter engine (producing 190-200 horsepower in racing trim), a 6-speed manual gearbox, a sophisticated and fully adjustable suspension system featuring double-adjustable shocks, and a host of other high tech racing components including full AIM MXL Pista data acquisition. The series is tightly regulated through the use of spec suspension components and an electronically sealed engine and transmission package, with all parts controlled by a single source. These regulations breed close and exciting racing and is popular with both competitors and spectators.
