About the Mazda Spec Miata
The Spec Miata class is the most popular club racing class in the country. The class is intended to provide racers the opportunity to compete in low cost, production-based cars, which are suitable for racing competition, with limited modifications. Using 1990-2005 Mazda Miata MX-5s, the Spec Miata class allows limited modifications to the engine, brakes, and drivetrain, and requires use of a spec tire. Spec Miata is one of the most popular classes in the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC; Conference) and Oregon Region Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) with large grids and close, competitive racing. Spec Miata is also part of the Mazda Motorsports Ladder, which provides a next-level, fully-funded ride in a Mazda powered car to the champions of selected Mazda series.
