We have been busy in the shop preparing the #8 TC Motorsports Mustang FR500S for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, which is this weekend, and getting things ready for the winter season of building and preparing your race and track cars.  In this newsletter we will share shop hours for December, information about post season race and track car inspections, winterizing and storing your race or track car, and news about the premiere of Mustang Challenge series on TV. Plus, check out our December special on roll cages and referral for roll cages!

Shop Hours for December

The TC Motorsports shop in Auburn will be closed during a few days in
December for various events and holidays:

• December 4-8 (25 Hours of Thunderhill, Willows, CA)
• December 10-12 (Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Orlando, FL)
• December 24-25 (Christmas with our families).

While we are out of the shop for these events, we are still available for continued product support, technical advice, or if you’d like to place an order.  Otherwise, our normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM, and weekends by appointment.

December Roll Cage and Referral Special*

We are offering a roll cage special for December!  If you call by December 15 and schedule a roll cage build for the month of December, you will receive a FREE M&R window net (shown in the photo), window net fabrication labor, and nine feet of SFI high density roll bar padding for FREE.  That’s a $250 value!

As always, all of our roll cage design and fabrication services are done in-house at our Auburn, WA shop.

We provide the following roll cage services:

• Design and fabrication of full SCCA and ICSCC legal custom 8-point cages
• Retrofit of existing cages with up-to-date and well-designed structural enhancements, including TRIPLE tube NASCAR door bars
• Design and fabrication of driver education and track car custom roll bars and roll cages, including cars with full interiors
• Installation of center driver nets and FIA seat belts
• Inspection of existing cages for FREE.

*This offer is good for customers who schedule a full 8-point cage project BEFORE December 15, 2008, for work to be completed in the month of December.

Post Season Race and Track Car Care - Inspections, Winterization, and Storage

Now is the time to start thinking about getting your race or track car ready for the winter off season!  Timely post season inspections are critical for next season’s performance.  Waiting until the week before the first race or track day of the season (while a very common practice) is not recommended.  Plan and prepare for success!  Having your car inspected now and planning ahead for the next season will pay dividends when the first race or track day comes around.  No all-nighters, no overnight shipping of needed repair or performance parts, no testing delays, no unexpected expenses.  Just roll the car off the trailer and prepare for new found speed!

With the threat of freezing temperatures, it is also time to winterize your race or track car to prevent engine and cooling system damage.  To prevent potential damage, flush and refill the cooling system with the proper anti-freeze and fresh distilled water mix (a 50-50 mix works for most cars).  Keeping your race or track car indoors is also a great winterization technique, as long as garage temperatures stay above freezing.

Mustang Challenge Media News

Tune into “WHY WE RACE: THE MUSTANG CHALLENGE” that premieres on Discovery HD Theater on Sunday, December 7 from 8-9 PM ET and runs for three consecutive Sundays.

Ride along in full high definition with Pacific Northwest racers Carlo Sparacio, Rick Edwards, Ted Anthony Jr, Andrew Caddell, and Steve Miller through the use of in-car and trackside HD cameras at some of the most famous and challenging circuits across North America, including Road Atlanta, Mosport, Mid-Ohio, Barber Motorsport Park, Lime Rock, and Miller Motorsports Park.

In other media news, we hope you heard the TC Motorsports radio interview with Miles Around Radio promoting the Mustang Challenge series and the Cascade Sports Car Club 12 Hours of the Cascades endurance race in Portland, OR in October.  Miles Around Radio is a radio and TV program centered around automotive and racing news and is available on AM970 in Portland, OR and also streams live on the web at www.twolaneblacktopmedia.com.
